Did anyone look at the business address? It's placeholder text...

Briar is a fantastic tool. A little rough around the edges but the idea of being able to use Bluetooth to communicate with someone in range versus sending data into a router has appeal beyond offline communication. I'd love to see Codeberg on here in the future. They're doing a bang up job.

I thought it was garbage in, garbage out. Here they seem to be suggesting garbage in, fairness out.

Some of my favorite apps on F-Droid and the apps they help replace:

I commonly rely on Goodreads for book reviews before deciding if it's worth spending the time to read. Any chance of integrating functionality like this with z-lib.org?

You signed a legal agreement with Google and gave them permission to update it anytime without notifying you. That's the root of your problem, not spam.

There's a concept called building for throwawayability in the front-end. If you're using Testing Library for tesing front-end components and you're not writing a big app consider whether or not you're using your time wisely. As by the time you finish perfecting your unit tests you might have to throw it all away.

Here we go again. What was once a conspiracy is now mass media designed to feed the frenzy. Perhaps menstral cycles are 100% psychological for the 20% who opted to rely on their own immune systems to fight the disease. What do you think?

It’s all uncritically regurgitating ‘science’ until the science shows things you don’t want to see. Then it’s “What do you think?”

What I think is that this is serious and needs to be studied and is another side effect of vaccines that needs to be taken into account when people make a voluntary, informed choice whether to take them or not.

Menstrual cycle and immune system are very closely connected. It is good that possible effect of inflammatory process on menstrual cycle gets more attention and research.

I guess it's because it's not a new study and was discussed over and over again even here on hackernews and most of the study got dismissed after peer reviews. It's bad science and even worse journalism.

https://journals.lww.com/greenjournal/Fulltext/9900/Associat...

> Peer reviews are not available, as the Editors completed an expedited review using peer reviews from another journal

What peer reviews dismissed most of the study? Is it more than some blogger disagreeing with the outcome?

Yikes. Go take your assumptions and discuss with idiots that fall for your flame bait. I am out.

The paper is just bogus science or at the least misinterpreted facts, inflammation is a factor in menstrual cycle changes this is present for most if not all vaccines https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16403011/

You are even worse than some facebook moms researchers, max. two pages down on google. Because you actually believe you ate it by the spoonful. No, idea about the subject. No, idea how to search and interpret scientific papers. Just CTRL+F, CTRL+C and CTRL+V. Like the junior dev in the meeting after he googled what's on the chart "but actually...". The nih granted 1.67 mil to other scientist who are doing the peer review now. You can find it by searching and you can even get the preprints. You can do it yourself maybe you'll learn something from it. causation vs correlation.

What do you mean by relying on own immune system? Do you believe that with vaccination your own immune system is switched off?

youtube-dl -x --audio-format mp3 https://youtu.be/k3WkJq478To

The transcode to mp3 is lossy. I just use `-f bestaudio` and call it a day.

bestaudio is usually opus thou, which not all devices and app's can handle as seamless as mp3. ymmv

`-f 'bestaudio[ext=m4a]'` is also an option - m4a is somewhat more widely supported than opus.

Aren't all formats available on yt lossy transcodes?

Usually, but there's no use in adding an extra layer of transcoding (I've never seen yt offer mp3 directly)

It did once, over 10 years ago (in 2008 or so, with the whole fmt=18 arguments etc), if your total video bitrate was below 320 kbps, it left the audio untouched ... I wonder if those videos from back then are still around and if yes, still have untouched audio.

Found one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AavrI7RLU0g

Of course now it only has 96kbps aac, but it did have untouched mp3 audio back then.

And another update, I downloaded it back in 2013, where it still had 160kbps mp3 audio!

Note after formatting: As you can see from the video FPS, the trick was to keep the video bitrate as low as possible, by using a still image (or pad it with black + silence at the end). I'm not sure anymore if you had to also already use the same video codec as youtube did back then, i.e., if the video stayed untouched too. I never managed to upload a video like this, so I don't exactly know.

Note this will download the video and ffmpeg the audio out of it, so you're no longer saving bandwidth.

The -x option will do that ONLY if no pure audio stream is available -- for youtube.com, this seems only to happen for live streams. More common on other sites. (Youtube-dl supports many different sites.)

Incorrect. This will download

251 webm audio only │ 139.66MiB 134k https │ opus 134k 48000Hz medium, webm_dash

and then use ffmpeg to reencode opus to mp3

Oh - slight typo in that, try this:

    youtube-dl -x --audio-format mp3 https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ

Use yt-dlp and pass it the SponsorBlock flags to auto skip intro/outro/sponsor/non-music sections. I used to use this to pipe videos into cmus or MPV but now just let a browser with ublock/sponsorblock go in the background

Is this a command in order to download the audio?

If so I think that is not an easy way to listen to music on YouTube if you have every time to download the song

Funny how many places look JUST like China right now...
