Yes? The publisher's intent changed when they decided to publish both copies. If they are unwilling to revert the change they pushed out, the op's claim of it being a money grab might be accurate.
What happened to Priceonomics? They used to regularly publish great content that I'd often see on the front page here. Is their business dying or are they just no longer prioritizing content marketing (or maybe targeting different people)?
They pivoted their business model a few times, and now do data content writing for other companies.
The fascinating Priconomics deep dives that I used to look forward to don't pay as well as advertorials like "5G Is 200X Faster and Will Unlock Everything" and "Which Industries Will Be Transformed By Blockchain".
My neighborhood has eight houses per acre. We've had no problems with stolen packages even when left out overnight. This is the exurban fringe of metro Atlanta.
Surprisingly yes. There are also townhouse and apartment complexes. Most homes are on bigger lots but I was surprised by the diversity of housing choices out here.
This website does an absolutely terrible job of explaining itself. The layout of the homepage is awful and starts with a random video, then a request that I start "folding at home" - whatever that means, followed by more nonsense language to anyone who, like me, arrived at the site with very little context.
The first thing on your site (after the navbar) should be an explanation of what your product is/does in as few words as possible.
Coming from someone who has actually been homeless, it’s entirely possible to get back on your feet with freelance work, and probably a much better idea than taking a low paying job.
I spent a year homeless on the streets of San Francisco due to my mental health and the atrocious safety net we have in the US. Eventually, my mental health improved, and I met an extremely generous person who was also in tech and helped me tremendously by giving me an old laptop of his and introducing me to the owner of an agency he used to work at. They didn’t have any work for me right away, but eventually I got a 6 week contract that paid $12k. Since I was a contractor, all of this money was available to me immediately (I could worry about taxes later), and I was able to get back on my feet and find a job soon after.
Obviously my situation involved a bit of luck, but I do believe that as long as you have access to a computer, this is possible. The important things to remember are that your skills are valuable. Do not sell yourself short because of your current situation. And things will get better. I know you’re living through a hell very few people can understand, but if you’re fortunate enough to be intelligent and skilled, you have a very good chance of coming out of this. Most homeless people don’t have this benefit.
The mobile UI is horrible. It’s impossible to tell when one starts and another begins. You could solve this very easily by wrapping the list items in a card component and using different font weights and sizes for different pieces of information. Hint: business name should be the largest. Good luck.
