Hiding the entropy in the language reminds me of this writeup about the $5000 compression challenge from back in the day: http://www.patrickcraig.co.uk/other/compression.htm

One thing to keep in mind is that Canada has different packaging requirements than the US, specifically around the inclusion of French language elements. This often requires a different SKU of a product to be shipped in the two countries, and for different marketing and documentation materials to be prepared.

Here's a curated list of open texts for mathematics: http://linear.ups.edu/curriculum.html

Keep in mind that Anonymous isn't a single entity with formal leadership making decisions. Anonymous is a loose collective, and anyone can operate under their mantle if they can convince others to go along with a plan. This means that different groups operating under the name of Anonymous may have wildly different interests, goals, and membership.

I've only used Spotify, but it actually has better coverage (from what I've seen) of independent acts. It's very easy to get your music on there. CDBaby will register an album on Spotify, iTunes, etc for $30.

$30 AND a large chunk of your sales profits.

Genuinely curious: Do you have a citation on the percentage CDBaby takes? I didn't notice one on their site, but I've not used them either.

Actually, it turns out to be only a 9% cut on top of a $39 fee for them on digital distribution; I thought it was more:

Fellow here, and that's how I read it as well--as a term to exclude (whether that be women, nerds, or the properly socialized). It was, however, a useful filter on my side--I work in speech technology and might have wasted time following up.

I found this interesting: "Mr. Friend said the early indications were encouraging. Burglaries were down 27 percent in July compared with July 2010, suggesting that the targeted policing may have a deterrent effect, he said."

Rather than just catch criminals, it reduces the probability that a crime will be committed. The least expensive arrest is the one you don't have to make. Hope this pans out.

Just to offer a counter anecdote, a friend of mine had the opposite experience. She'd struggled all through school, until her dyslexia was diagnosed, and she could be taught compensation strategies. After that, she was much more successful.

Weird. Guess it's completely dependent on the person's personality then.

I think, in this case, 'yield' is being used less in the sense of a street sign, and more in the sense of crop yield.
