LOL

The exposed portion of the berg is roughly spherical. The submerged portion must be enormous and approximately symmetrical to hold that sphere in such an upright position.

So the tip of the iceberg is just the tip of the iceberg

Indeed, that tautology is a true statement.

With just one photo we can’t really say if the exposed portion is roughly spherical. However, the guy taking the photo who presumably got a better look seems to think it was “diamond shape.”

^Who in their right mind would reject an offer of unlimited knowledge and worldly pleasures?

The bargain had a quid pro quo...you get knowledge and pleasure in exchange for perpetual servitude to a bad guy. I wouldn't make that trade

No me neither, but that's not the story. The deal was that Mephistopheles would come back at the end of Faust's life to claim his soul. As Faust dies, Mephistopheles tries to claim his soul, but angels intervene. Because of Faust's relentless striving and Gretchen's intercession, he is redeemed and ascends to Heaven.

So Faust enjoyed his life of pleasure and knowledge and got away with making his Mephistophelean deal.

Unless you are a crazy narcissist confident that you will get away with it, their point still stands. It's hard to put a price on your own soul since it's unclear what it actually means but it seems it involves going to a seemingly hostile place called Hell

Not a surgical procedure. It's catheter access to the spermatic veins.

ROFLMAO

If taken orally, how does the saccharin distinguish between good and bad bacteria when bursting bacteria cell walls?

I don't think most antibiotics distinguish between good and bad bacteria, you just kill the majority of them and wait until they reproduce themselves again (and hopefully only the good bacterias).

Subconscious synthesis of seemingly unrelated strands of thought is the basis of assessing an event's meaning, for me. A day or two will pass after the event, and I notice the meaning evolves even without new information and without conscious thinking about the event.

For me, the subconscious is the wellspring of sudden insights.

Level 1: a ton of money. Level 2: L1 + interesting work Level 3: L2 + intelligent co-workers Level 4: L3 + deep skills Level 5: L4 + mentor Level 6: L5 + awesome network Level 7: L6 + personal growth Level 8: L7 + meaningful contribution Level 9: L8 + work-life balance Level 10: L9 + recognized SME Timing and circumstances influence what you get....not always the same for equally talented ppl.

Making a "ton of money"....it matters because new people want to know what price is paid for exceptional comp.

Chip War would be a good "2023" book.

Gotta ask....do you play the banjo?
