Perhaps the league disapproves of Marijuana because it would be counter productive to their ulterior motives.
If players were allowed to smoke pot they might become generally calmer people, leading to less ground shattering hits and anger released on the field, ultimately leading to a decrease in profits for the NFL, since most of the people tuning into this sport watch for the aggressive nature of the game.
The fact that alcohol is allowed, which as a substance probably leads to increased anger, seems like it would fit the leagues agenda much better.
Marijuana is not a performance enhancing drug in sport unless you consider increased relaxation and pain relief an enhancement. I'm not advocating that the players should be using pot before gametime, but I can see it being a very effective way for players de-stress after games or during the off-season.
To be fair, a lot of people are capable of becoming that type of employee after gaining comfort at the company, and after building relationships with their co-workers. To expect someone to do that in front of strangers while under pressure doesn't necessarily correlate with a programmer who can evolve into such a person.
Anyone remember that there was a URL you could go to on Windows 95 that would trigger the blue screen of death? It was a great way to piss off your friends. I think it involved trying to access C:\con\con, and some websites took advantage of that through img src.
I built a minimum viable web app that tracks my daily nutritional intake. Using it Ive lost about 40lbs in a few months. Im also adding a part that tracks what I do in the gym. I have some real good ideas but im scared the market might already be flooded with similar tools. Should I pursue it further?
Yes. Most of the stuff on the market sucks (I've looked). If what you've built is actually effective and not some b.s, than it seems like a worthwhile endeavor. Is there a beta version we can try?
Keep working on real projects and experimenting. Only so much knowledge can come from reading. You should also try dissecting some open source projects.
This is my first app where I did it completely on my own (previous ones I just helped out). Hard to say exactly how long, since I ended up spending time on it here and there over quite a few months (like all my projects lol), but I would say probably 4 weeks hard concentrating work in total, at a guess.
