EDA tools are possessed by US companies. It is not easy to close the gap i think.

I wouldn't be worried about those. I'm sure China can easily find "alternative sourcing" for them (also the version they have right now is probably sufficient for some time)

I enjoyed browsing CSS Zen Garden and read Eric Meyer's CSS articles when I was still in school 15 years ago. Time flies and so as Front-end stack.

I recently re-read pg's Hacker and Painter again. Some of the ideas are so true if you look at today's computer technologies. Functional programming, statistics in data classification (spam email filtering), web applications etc.
