lol thank you other Parker Higgins, always a pleasure to run into you here

ya here's the link explaining the metadata store: https://www.snowflake.com/en/blog/how-foundationdb-powers-sn...

here's some insight into the team's thought processes around the development and testing of FoundationDB. A few went on to form Antithesis: https://antithesis.com/company/backstory/

Been following this game! Congrats! Please bring us an MacOS port!

The Onion did a fundraising campaign a few months ago. Glad to see this is where my donation went!

It is and today, it’s relatively straight-forward to implement. Get a good Zero Trust vendor.

Most of the “Zero Trust” vendor solutions on the market are a joke compared to Google’s internal implementation (BeyondCorp). If you read through the journal papers Google published you’ll see just how much work it is to do zero trust properly.

most companies are built on a random collection of SaaS services, you have to hope they all support it properly beyond just SSO

Any example?

You can implement this kind of thing using tailscale quite easily.

I will note though that “retrofitting” zero trust onto an existing network is a fucking nightmare no matter which way you go about it.

Yeah Tailscale is pretty awesome. Recently heard someone claiming it doesn’t qualify as true ZT, but for a mere mortal like me it would go a pretty long way.

Tailscale is fantastic at least for personal use.

Unrealized gains.

outcomes > outputs

It’s proven time and time again by DX programs (S.P.A.C.E. etc) that focus time is really the only KPI that produces outcomes.

Reference, please?

My laconic question was downvoted. Sorry, I was on my phone, but didn't want to forget about this. I'm sincerely interested in reading the source of this research. Searching for it now, I came across this article:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/research/publication/the-spa...

But is this really the one you mean? Even the abstract states that there is no single metric that measures developer performance, which contradicts your claim:

> Developer productivity is about more than an individual’s activity levels or the efficiency of the engineering systems relied on to ship software, and it cannot be measured by a single metric or dimension

So I'm still interested in reading the research you're talking about, and I would appreciate a reference. Thanks!

Seconded, while so tedious, we're in the process of moving hundreds (400+) domains from Google Domains (now Squarespace) to Cloudflare Registrar. We're seeing similar oddities with redirects for domain protection.
