Who cares? I've never heard of Zalando and their "adopt" criteria is as follows:
> Technologies we have high confidence in to serve our purpose, also in large scale. Technologies with a usage culture in our Zalando production environment, low risk and recommended to be widely used.
So all this tells us is that Rust isn't well-regarded by a company most people have never heard of.
Zalando is a giant clothing e-tailer with a massive EU customer base (12 billion EUR revenue in 2021) and something like every 5th package at my "packet pickup shop" is sent by Zalando (not for me though).
The EU is ~6% of the world's population. According to Wikipedia, they have 49 million users, which is ~10% of the EU.
So, again, I'm not sure why we should care about the internal stack preferences (which they explicitly say are partially incidental) of a regional e-commerce store.
