Absolute cringe, this was hard to read. Seems like a blatant shift of responsibility. At what point do people have to take responsibility and stand by their creations, regardless of what has been spoon-fed to them?
100% my first thought when loading this page. It really seems like they are running the calculation on query. Think about how much compute resource have they needlessly burned through by not caching user queries.

It seems like part of that case hinged on economic impact. If you're using copyrighted books and show snippets of the book that's one thing. But using copyrighted material to build something that is attempting to replace the copyrighted material seems like it could have gone the other way.
