Have a look at harbour project on github. It compiles Clipper code to be run on several different platforms, in text and gui mode (also with Qt bindings) and mow there are several frameworks for web development

Look for Harbour project on github

Use harbour compiler and run it under windows, linux, mac and other less used os..

Da vinci is great software but for long time vegas users it is not easy to adapt. I tried several times and failed. I used to edit a couple of my daughter theatrical performance with up to 5 cameras and wanted to use da vinci for its "sync-with-audio" feature and easier color correction for the various, different cameras.

I also use 2 pc to edit with vegas, with project and video on an external usb3 disk, moving it from home to office. It is not so easy with da vinci that uses an external database: doable but not easy.

Yes. Going back to the top or confirming tha data when exiting the last field was a setting. You may have multiple commands on one row but you have to separate them with a ;

You can still compile dbase/Clipper programs with Harbour, github hosted, open source, Clipper 5.2 compatible compiler that runs almost everywhere, from native windows 64 bit to mac, raspberry, linux, embedded appliances, anywhere there is a c compiler available.

The language has been slightly expanded and with external libraries you may have gui programs (win32, qt, gtk) l, connect to databases (sqlite, mariadb,postgres...) create PDF, excel files.

I have a program started in 1986 on dbase III, then ported to Clipper and now to Harbour...

I'd never heard of Harbor (https://harbour.github.io/), thanks!

I still work on software that started out in dBase II in 1986 or so, then went to FoxBase+ when I started in 1988, then Foxpro and now Visual Foxpro.

oh, yes.

Strait of Messina, as is called that part of the mediterranean sea, is really really busy, with a lot of maritime traffic.

Some researchers pointed out that the planned height of the bridge from the sea level is not enough for the biggest ships

It's a telluric area--- sicily and the continent are moving and their distance increases some centimeters every year.

Also look for "messina earthquake" year 1908, between 75000 and 82000 people died.

It is a "trophy" for some politician... so no, it's not an easy task.

Not to mention the fact that the economy of the whole of Sicily amounts to about 90 billion euro, the neighboring Calabria amounts to 35 billion and the nearest major city to Sicily is Naples, 480 km away.

There just isn't an economic case for a bridge.

Don't want to start a flame but what is missing to the children is exactly being bored.

We used to bring paper and pen to have them draw.

That's totally fine. My children get plenty of boring time, sometimes they get creative, sometimes they do not.

When they are creative, their creation is not always compatible with the environment (too noisy, too active). Not all children like drawing either. Tablet is consistent, which is helpful when going to a restaurant.

Just to be clear, I use tablet only as a tv, I don't allow any games, too many exploits child's mind.

If I went more often to the restaurant, it would make sense to have different activities though, you are right. We go maybe once every 2-3 months, so the tablet was acceptable. It has become way too expensive eating out.

On a recent tv reconstruction by an italian TV show about historically events ("una giornata particolare") it seems that the archeologists are finding remains of food typical of the autumn
