There are very few good things I have to say about the Conservative government, but the early days of GDS make it onto that short list. They intentionally structured GDS as much like a startup as possible, attracting a huge number of highly competent people, and giving them oversight of government digital projects.
They're the inspiration for many other country's digital teams, including the USDS who are strongly modelled on GDS, and have spawned equivalent teams within other branches of the UK government such as the Ministry of Justice and NHS.
People hear server-less, and go straight to thinking about hardware … in my mind, server-less apps are missing the "application server" software, or it's extracted away so far as to appear to be the operating system from the server-less functions point of view.
Not really, embassy’s are not the sovereign territory of the foreign country, the land still belongs to the host county, so officially he’s still in Britain, but is protected under the Vienna treaty
This sounds like you know more about the situation than I do. I just assumed it was considered foreign territory for all intents and purposes. (Maybe due to that treaty).
