Volcanic eruptions FTW

Proof or gtfo

No need for profanities when one xkdc can do it:

The problem is that as soon as everyone got cameras, everyone also got the ability to realistically edit photos. Same with video.. even with proof, when the proof can be doctored, it's not proof.

Copying software that was built and saying there is no scarcity is like saying you should be able to spend the millions of dollars you made by copying a $100 bill multiple times on an inkjet.

They play games and watch mindless YouTube videos. This isn't a very good argument.

I didn't say give them internet access. The internet is already too far gone down the drain to be salvaged.

Supply exceeds demand for free moderators. They have no incentive to change this.

Well, the current situation seems like enough incentive to at least discuss this as a possible solution...

What does paying them solve? They’d just become even bigger entitled control freaks.

Why not pay the users instead of the mods?

If there's a market for paying users directly for content, and also as a way to not need mods, someday this market will bubble up.

Ironically, /antiwork is not on strike

Doing a strike is perhaps too much work.

... I'll see myself out.

Focus on trying to take over other people's jobs using AI.

My job is based on results. I've worked remotely for 15 years now. Unless a manager isn't doing their job, remote work should be no problem.

It's only because he's a white male. Person of color suspects rarely get doxxed by the media and the story usually disappears the next day.

Yet, we should proscute GPL violations when the original GPL code is untouched.

You're comparing apples and oranges.

In the case of a physical object needing to temporarily go digital, it needs to be sent digitally and the records kept, and of course the physical copy has to be kept.

In the case of the GPL there's no physical copy and thus there's no need to consider how to move from one form to the other.

To require that a physical object never be used digitally is bad for society.

People rarely buy copies GPL'ed source code, they obtain a license to the software. Buying something is very different from licensing it.
