I think https://fission.codes/ecosystem/wnfs/ might do what you want (though I don't know about viewing photos in browser etc). Alternatively, IPFS supports unixFS and a mutable filesystem through the desktop client if you are happy to host them on your own machine (it acts like a unix dir)

edit: ah sorry, I see you actually asked for a private network. You could possibly look into https://ipfscluster.io/, though it might be a little heavyweight for what you're looking for

It's not a necessity, but also understandable that if you had that experience yourself you might feel you've failed as a parent if you can't provide that same experience (or better) for your child.

Of course in reality that's not true.

They didn't have that experience.

I've found wine good enough to run nearly any windows programme I want to use; the only exception is VR games, but I've found myself just not playing VR as a result

the page hangs for me with a bunch of CORS errors in the console - am I the only one?

Afaiu, in the UK many (most?) males over 55 get prescribed TRT. Male mortality tracks quite closely with muscle wastage, so it makes a lot of sense.

nah, this isn't correct. The NHS very very rarely prescribes TRT, certainly not as a matter of course.

well perhaps all the old folk I know are the outliers - nearly all the pensioners I know have been prescribed a steroid once they get an illness

edit: perhaps that isn't strictly TRT though - ianad

Corticosteroids are definitely common with older people, and aren't anything like anabolic steroids or testosterone.

Sure - the next corporate ship will torch VC money until they can't, they'll go user hostile then the next corporate ship will have received VC money to torch to fill the void

>I have never read or heard anything that suggests either found it terribly useful

Allegedly, Mozart transcribed Allegri's Miserere after hearing it performed once in the Vatican: https://www.classicfm.com/composers/mozart/guides/mozart-all....

Perhaps apocryphal, but sounds pretty useful to me.

I don’t think that it is attributable to absolute pitch, that might not even be required.

It’s “just” insanely good memory for music.

This skill has absolutely nothing to do with whether one has perfect pitch, however.

I'm amazed that we're still entertaining banning everything in 2023.

The same song and dance was made of TV 30-50 years ago, keeping kids off the internet 15 years ago, and I'm sure for keeping kids off AI in a few years time.

The cat is out of the bag, and trying to force it back in the bag is going to be no better for kids
