Bad signalling to insist on 6 months. Unless I'd worked with someone already, I'd be extremely wary of signing away a quarter of my business to them within such a short period of time.

The cliff is just when vesting starts. That doesn't meant they get the full quantity of shares after 6 months.

I agree. Four years ago I dove deeply into blockchain and token models for a marketplace project I was working on and failed to find any startups or initiatives that looked anything like a customer facing product or platform. Four years on and nothing has changed. Still no case studies, no success stories.

Here's an illuminating transcript from Molly White (crypto sceptic) around the idea that blockchain is a 'solution looking for a problem' https://blog.mollywhite.net/blockchain-solutionism-lecture/

Changing the 'birth' date of a Twitter account to anything less than 13 years old results in the account be immediately locked without warning and without a mechanism to reset. This is obviously an age consent control but the undo has disappeared.

Lots of posts complaining about this to the Twitter support account. Especially problematic for a brand or organization account younger than 13 years. Ironically @twittersupport was born in March 2021, so they seem to have slipped themselves through the net!

Yup! My curiosity is this: at what scale does using contractors instead of employees start to break? Is it possible to build an infinitely large business with contractors only?

Hire me and we can find out :) I am of the opinion that 1 developer can build an amazing service, compared to 10 normal ones

Thanks, builtwith.com is a pretty useful tool too.

Thanks, as you say the issue with this is the need for a proprietary wallet to receive payments as this will add a fair amount of friction to the process.

Yes, the prepaid visa is something we've looked at although the payments to users are recurring so we really want time to be able to store ongoing payments as a balance and then transfer to their own bank account whenever they want.

Thanks, but this group of users don't pay anything to us so there's nothing to discount against. Good idea though.

Thanks, it looks like it could work really well for us. I'm checking it out now. There's also a discussion here: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=25289796
