I've never been an anime fan, but Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z will always hold a place in my heart. Last year, I decided to read the series manga—the first and probably only I will ever read. In the forward of each volume, Toriyama talks about random little details of his life, like talking about his pets, a painful dentist visit, etc. This is probably common practice in manga, but as a westerner who has never seen such things, it was absolutely charming, and I enjoyed those glimpses more than I ever would have expected.
I lived in Beijing for 9 years. You know you are doing something right when the pro Chinese crowd calls you anti Chinese and the anti Chinese crowd calls you pro Chinese.
It is about two things, one superficial and one deep:
1) these things are pretty and the physical design is fun—- and their appeal is universal across age and gender
2) the EVF/OVF technology is at its best in this specific device.
Both of these things combined are clearly worth the extra money; this camera is likely going to be difficult to get hold of in some markets for some time. Late demand for the X100V was astonishing.
Chinese here, I would highly recommend the TV series made by CCTV in 1994[1]. There's an unofficial English translated subtitle out there[2]. Cried every time I watched it.
He is the founder of RavenTech. Baidu acquired RavenTech and he became the leader of Baidu's smart hardware division, and then launched the Raven H, which you may have heard of.
That’s actually really helpful context, and absolutely swayed the needle from “no track record vaporware company salesman” to “maybe he actually has the experience to pull this off”
