What does the online safety act require websites to do?

Just off the top of my head:

* Verify the ages of people using the site;

* Verify that there is no CSAM;

* Verify that there is no child-grooming;

* Verify that there is no terrorism;

... and more.

Anyone running a site that has user-to-user interactions has to provide risk-assessments for each of:

* CSAM;

* Grooming;

* Terrorism;

* Under-age access to porn;

* Modern slavery;

... and more.

For each of the above there must be written policies about how the limitations are enforced, and the procedures taken for each of the risks identified.

I've download some, but not all, of the explanatory and guidance documentation and it amounts to around 1100 pages of legalese so far.

So any site with a live chat widget? Update: no the chat operator is the provider of the service not a user. My reading not a lawyer.

Has someone got a guide they can link that is easy enough to understand for service administrators that aren't doing anything complicated?

Also, can I request these risk assessments off companies myself?

I suggest you start here:

https://onlinesafetyact.co.uk/

There's a lot more out there ... seriously, a lot more, but that's a good single point to start from.

There's also this:

Isn’t compiz a compositor for xfce?

Btw I love xfce. Find it to be the perfect balance between features, stability and performance!!!

Compiz is an X11 compositor that can be used with Xfce if you disable xfwm4's builtin compositor.

A Wayland compositor is a completely different beast, and that's what we have to build.

Any theories on why water level rise is not uniform? 10 inches higher east of New York but 0 inches higher a thousand miles south?

diff (40% worse code, pre-40% worse code)

There were no relevant code changes. The important diff here was 40% worse input data vs pre-40% worse input data.

Read the article.

Fascinating! I wonder how different that is from the mind of a man haha

Less technical but you might find Proximity principle by Ken Coleman to be helpful as well.

I agree. This is a beautiful summary of the logic I used

I would say red because n is probably larger than 50 if the first one picked was red

My observation has been that as long as basic human needs are easily obtained there is a natural tendency to become complacent and go with the flow.

Another perspective could be: what’s so bad about people taking longer to mature? In a way it points to the possibility that we have evolved to a society that allows children to be children for longer. The real problem is that biologically their bodies are screaming for reproduction which becomes confusing and stressful. Perhaps in the future we will deal with this in creative and healthy new ways

> screaming for reproduction

Y'all mind if I use this as the name of my next album? It's got some long lost Judas Priest vibes about it.

Not sure what to say. It’s been hard. I need to take a break.
