Crashed for me browsing that website with win 8.1. Thanks, microsoft. It actually rebooted my computer. Only microsoft can reboot your computer from their own website.

As a side note, I realized java 7's Objects class was copied from google's Objects library class, but with name changes. They could have copied the apache API, but nope. This is fine by itself, but these are the same jerkoffs claiming some sort of copyright over the java JDK API. Quite disgusting.

And if you think bing's search marketshare is not due to Microsoft OS dominance then I have a bridge to sell to you.

Yes, it's evil google's fault. Maybe you can be a peach and come up with a better implementation than doesn't require all google employees to work on this full time.

chomps on popcorn

This can only get better.

I was trying to enjoy the company of a friend and his friend turned out to be an Apple executive and had a lot of passive things to say about the fact that I had an android phone. the gist was it was too big, not many apps, and other nitpicking stuff. I couldn't help but think... well gee just try another smaller android phone, but I wanted to just eat dinner and ignored his snide comments. They're definitely obsessed from the top down.

IMO, they need to stop whining and give users what they want, a cheaper phone. That could have stopped android years ago, instead they just sued and became indignant. As if that helps. You want to talk about a bubble. I fear the day when apple's revenue drops. I sort of want them to stop bitching and do something, because that day won't be pretty.

I am guilty of imposter syndrome, however I recently heard myself speak about a subject I care a lot about. And I giggled because I actually sound smart. That was a revelation, although I am still not convinced.

Very true, they are good for consumers who are able to pay more to get online. Back in the early days of android, you definitely wanted to pay more for iphones as the quality difference was so large. Now that quality is more or less equal I guess the selling point is "privacy"? I'm not so sure what the quantifiable price is for that. It depends on how much giving my information out harms me, and I'm not quite seeing the harm. If I do a search from my desktop for a location then the driving directions appear on my phone, then that "privacy violation", or sharing of information between machines, is actually helpful. In fact, both companies want to give consumers what they want, in one case so they buy their phones, in another case, so they click on relevant ads. So what I see is that Apple is simply behind the times on information sharing and is catching up (new mapping service which collects data for example). But once Apple starts sharing information well to provide a good experience like what google provides, then I'm not sure what the selling point will be for paying more.

Just as I suspected. Promising to slap their hand will do nothing. We did the same thing with the telecommunications act in the 1990s in order to enforce competition in the ISP space, and the entrenched telcos laughed it off. I guess Wheeler is expecting that history won't repeat? I refuse to believe he is this naive, he knows enforcement won't go anywhere, but he thinks everyone else believes this so his agenda can be pushed.

You are correct about Boulder, however, Europe gets it right more often.. I can name many more cities in Europe that get it right. Rennes, Paris, Marseilles, Aix-en-Provence, Barcelona, Den Hague, Amsterdam, Prague, Rome, Florence... just off the top of my head.
