w3m hasn't been updated since 2023, and the author hasn't even had any activity on GitHub since July of that year, either, it seems - which given he's had at least 3 contributions a year since 2010 and then just suddenly dropped off the face of the earth, is pretty concerning to say the least.

There is an maintained (by me) fork at https://w3m-pager.org

SeaMonkey would be good if it weren't for modern websites being well, modern websites, and both Mozilla, with their decision to cut SeaMonkey off most of their infrastructure... and later on PaleMoon with its endless barrage of drama and pandering-but-actually-not to the 'uwu windows xp!!11!1! le fruitger aro y2k' crowd... pretty much screwing them over into irrelevance.

Master branch is where things are happening at the moment. Currently unstable.

Also see the website for further information as to what is going on, don't mind the old site design, that is something we want renovated or at least the html redone to not be using html4 era stuff. I'm aware some people like the "retro" feel myself included, so maybe at the very least bringing that into a more usable manner on touch/phone devices is the way to go?

Anyway, some backstory, xmb has been maintained somewhat despite development halting around 2012: it picked back up again thanks to a few contributors in 2017 (most notably, Xian) which encouraged official maintenance to continue... and here we are, a major point version with major code cleanup, after about 16 years. Something I never expected.

I only signed up here to mention it, and the fact the project needs someone who is competent in modern HTML/CSS stuff and maybe some more interest and/or potential manpower.

(I've mostly just been sitting on the sidelines finding random old bugs all over the place, since my php skill is... not great)

This has been going on since around December/January, but I figured it was worth bringing up.

Also, a little bit of tidbit/trivia, mybb descended from an old version of xmb way back in the early days :p
