I've already been called Nazi, mysogynist, racist, baby killer, pure evil here (on other now-banned accounts). Do you think "sociopath" is gonna affect me the least ?
For anything it actually strengthen my no-fuck-given stance.
You should aspire to be merely useless since by your own admission, you're even less than that. Every one of your posts is some dumbass movie villain cliché - "who cares that I'm a scammer, everything's a scam, maann."
It’s a false choice. Without a shutdown, do you think everyone will just start going back to restaurants? Will all businesses bring everyone back, filling up the elevators?
The purpose of shutdown is to drive absolute case numbers low enough for a new regime of contact tracing and testing to take over as the primary, far more granular means of fighting its spread.
You're taking it to the extreme and ignoring the whole point I made. As has been said by the president, you can't have the cure worse than the disease. I want to see people argue that point. I get the whole flattening of the curve.
Much the same experience here, including the difficulty with memory which I find to be the most insidious thing. What have you found helps it, if you don't mind me asking?
Not the OP but I would describe my anxiety in identical terms.
When I feel the doubt about past memories/decisions start to creep, I whip out my phone and make some brief notes (usually keep one document per trigger). I will just write a few bullet points detailing what facts I am sure of right now along with the reassurances I am telling myself in that moment.
Then, next time it happens I open the same note, read my previous thoughts and relax into it knowing I’ve been here before.
I suppose it’s just an anxiety journal, nothing novel, but it works for me. Over time as I accumulate more facts the effect sort of compounds and simply knowing I’ve got the notes is enough to push the anxiety away.
Ah, I hadn’t thought of the journaling idea. I do try to start and end my day with brief/debrief note taking to create more continuity in my intentions and memory, but that doesn’t address other sources of anxiety in between. Thanks very much, grateful for your response.
I saw this in person yesterday at Siggraph and it works perfectly. No perceptible flickering, fully opaque images (when the alpha mask is on), cap touch, good color fidelity. It’s a simple, terrific idea.
I used an ESP8266 and not the Pi for this, but a really really great m/c project is a wireless fan controller for a smoker or kamado (big green egg-style) grill.
We use it to make, for example, this recipe (with some modifications of our own) on a regular basis with a minimum of effort, and it is one of the most breathtakingly delicious things I’ve ever tasted, let alone cooked myself. We follow his instructions but hold to 180-190 deg until the meat reaches about 138, basting a few times with a honey+whiskey+thyme glaze; also be sure to use a fatty salmon, like (in my experience) farmed atlantic, not sockeye.
