I think people focus too much on media reporting in this thread. The resources allocated for this rescue operation vs for the refugee boat is much more poignant.
I would argue paying a smuggler between $1,000 and $8,600 (quick google search) to hopefully get you across the sea (instead of selling you in a slave market) is a risk most people living in adequate conditions are not willing to take.
I did not claim that they lived in adequate conditions. I claimed that they were not forced to leave or that they did not have an immediate threat to their life. There are different terms for a reason. Because they are different things. Are pakistani people leaving their country the same as Syrians fleeing a warzone ?
Fair I probably interpreted your post uncharitably. It is not the same, but they are both worthy of empathy is my opinion. Often I see the distinction between "refugee" and "migrants" as used to indicate we should not have any sympathy for the people involved (not referring to your post).
Given that roma people stealing children is an age old stereotype (think of it as similar to jewish people and blood libel) I don't think the books comes out ahead in its portrayal of racism/xenophobia. The decision to change Esmeralda's race in the later adaptations was not made on a whim, it was made to remove the confused messaging/racist stereotyping.
The three remaining plants are each run by a different company, which all declined to answer questions in detail.
A spokesperson for RWE said extending the operation of its Emsland plant in Lower Saxony would come with “high obstacles” related to technical matters and legal issues. Its Gundremmingen plant, which went offline in 2021, “has lost its operating authorization and is in the process of being safely dismantled.”
EnBW, which runs the Neckarwestheim plant in Baden-Württemberg, said it was “fully committed” to Germany’s phaseout decision.
E.ON has also ruled out an extension of its Isar 2 site in Bavaria. “There is no future for nuclear in Germany, period,” CEO Leon Birnbaum told the Financial Times this month. “It is too emotional. There will be no change in legislation and opinion.”
I could be wrong, but this seems like a surefire way to make your system develop weird quirks. Just looking at the issues someone seems to have restart/shutdown take 15 minutes: is this because of debloater or just regular windows things? Who knows?
O&O's similar thingy even tells you this for some options: that you should only use them if you're really sure that you want the effect. This is what made me give up tinkering with Windows, it's just improbable to get it doing what you want, it will instead do what they want.
