this is similar to how dna used to be sequenced :)

I honestly believe identity politics was amplified as a way to diffuse class warfare and create infighting in the (shrinking) middle and lower classes

Identity politics is used in lieu of class conflict. For various reasons, the US does not perceive itself as having classes… difficult to foment a Revolution if the ‘proletariat’ all think they can grow up to be President someday (or at least a gazillionaire.)

It was determined that race might be a sufficient proxy. Time will tell.

Gives me rendevous with rama vibes!

That's the one! :)

NFTs are just proof of ownership in a purely digital realm. Aside from the "contents" of an NFT, it is proof that the holder is a customer, or provides a provenance chain of ownership from the original customer. Advantages exist for both the customer and the seller. Far from useless.

I believe individual privacy should have an inverse relationship to individual power. The more power an individual wields through wealth, and possibly fame/influence, the less expectation they should have of privacy.

Perhaps the increasing prevalence of "opportunities" to denounce things and endorse political beliefs had something to do with the decision to move away from politics in the office. If Thea opportunities can be freely presented at any time and demand a positive response or invite condemnation, surely you can see how this might be considered wasteful from a business point of view.

This evokes a disturbing image of VC's gambling on disruption events, the human costs and other consequences immaterial. Very well put and I wish this viewpoint could be spread further, I found it illuminating.
