The Swedish government didn't say that, some researcher did, and it was talked about in the public service news, afaik. The part of the government they asked on the topic said it was unsafe to have sensitive conversations in any brand of car.
Looks fun, how can I get a couple without having to wait until December? Seems like that would be an easy way to boost conversion, to have them come in once a month. Guessing you don't have enough volume?
The original post above framed the issue from a national-security angle.
Whether "this side" is-doing/has-done it as well is an orthogonal concern, i.e. not pertinent here. We have a small but non-zero ability to affect change on our side.
