You're right it's Drift. I'm the CEO. Love working with Segment, Mixpanel, Clearbit and other great companies to deliver a personalized experience on their sites like in this example.
The gist of the article is that I try to grow product managers internally vs hiring experienced PMs. Just like in the case of Matt the PM on our homepage.
Fair. I'm sure I'm a wanker at times just like everyone else. Our team is amazing, super friendly and love working together which is the real thing I care about.
Good question, avoiding bias of any sort when looking at results is always a problem.
The cup story is actually a bit different than in the article. I don't bring in a cup, it is the interviewee's own cup or bottle of water. So what I observed over time that some people never felt like it was their responsibility to clean up after themselves, a question of simple manners more than a trick/test I am putting them through.
Wow, that little detail changes everything about the article. They should edit it to be correct.
I'm the kind of person that would pick up my own cup, but if it was the interviewer's cup, I definitely wouldn't pick it up. I'd also probably have a slightly negative impression of the interviewer for not doing so.
What happens to the index of personal data they created when I gave them access to all my PII? I can go in and manually deauth Greplin from all my accounts (PAIN IN THE ASS) but that doesn't delete whatever data they stored on their end.
Crazy to me as a loyal Greplin user that they would pivot from being a personal data search engine to a Calendar app overnight with no heads-up to their users.
I gave Greplin access to all of my personal data-email, calendar, dropbox, etc, etc. What happened to all my PII now?
The new website no longer lets me access my account. It just says "get notified when the new web app launches". WTF?
