Fun little quiz but thought some of the questions got more confusing by trying to keep them as simple as possible. For instance, when it's third and short, selecting pass would allow you to rollout and look for a pass and keep the option for the QB to run for the first down if none of the receivers were open. But a run on a pass call isn't accounted for.

I am going to have fun playing with the data visualizations, thanks for putting that together

Thanks for the feedback. The simplicity vs. thoroughness tradeoff was tricky.

To respond to that specific comment, a quarterback scramble was counted as a pass play for the purpose of that analysis. That's not clear from our post, and does nicely highlight your point.

Just wanted to throw out a huge congrats to Anthony and company for all the work you've done on the site. It's become my entire new music source over the past 4 years and I'm excited to see where it goes!

Job well done, I'm still waiting for an official Android app though :)

I used to have ilictronix on my feed but it disappeared a while ago, moving the blog to heroku makes sense as to why. Will find and re-follow

Would be cool if they showed how much traffic was on the bridge, going across the bridge, or if there was an accident by flashing bright to those approaching the bridge so they could avoid it

I'm looking forward to the day when I can have a physical library at home and the exact same digital library on my Kindle wherever I go. I too think the bundle is a major step in the right direction

Great title. Seriously though what type of barriers do you think they could have put up? Exclusive deals?

They must have gone lighter on the margins with the merchants and locked them in. One example I can think of, is to have merchants accept Groupon coins, like Bitcoins, and make people gain Groupon coins elsewhere.

Thanks Jason for the notes. I too highlight important bits and pieces that I read and type them up later. Having a cliff notes document on each book is useful if I ever need to go back and find some specific detail (I know this seems redundant in that I could just read the kindle version and use the highlight feature but there's something about books in paper form that I can't drop).

Does anyone know of a good website that has similar cliff notes on books? Maybe one where you can read notes by others and contribute your own. Thanks

Yeah, actually this wiki is a good one. Just added my summary here: http://bookoutlines.pbworks.com/w/page/14422658/FrontPage

This is great, thank you!

Fantastic! Fractals are beautiful by themselves but when found in nature, they're just that much more amazing

Agreed, I enjoyed "Believe You Can Change" when it was posted on HN and was happy to find out this article was next in line in his "Raw Nerve" series. Thanks and can't wait for the next one

We've reached the point in scientific discoveries where you can't expect an apple falling on a scientist's head to eventually lead to an explanation (I know this story isn't true). The proposed theory is more complex and therefore requires lots of money. You have no idea what this potential discovery could lead to 10, 20, 50, 200 years down the road. And neither does anybody, it could be a steal. How much is the truth worth (or a glimpse at why things happen)?

By the way, what was the common man's response when Newton first explained gravity? Probably, "Things fall, what more do you need to know"

If I'm starving? It's not worth more than a meal.
