Do you know if anyone is writing a HomeAssistant integration for this?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Home_Assistant for those like me who have never heard of this software

Not yet, but maybe you? :)

Sadly, it seems to be Bluetooth only, whose range isn't great unless you already have your garden covered. Probably late to ask, but would be cool if future versions also included a Zigbee radio and it will make it 1000 times easier to integrate into Home Assistant :)

Yes— this version is Bluetooth only, which works well for many smaller setups but does have its range limitations. I’ll pass your suggestion for Zigbee radio along to our product team! Expanding connectivity options is something we’re actively exploring for future versions of this Monty.

For larger-scale setups, our upcoming industrial product line, Monty Pro, will feature LoRaWAN connectivity, offering a much wider range. You can learn more about it here (https://www.monty-pro.com). While it’s designed for industrial composting, if there’s interest in hacking it for personal setups— we’d be open to making this available to the community!

Be careful he doesn't burn out. I did pretty early on because it took me a lot more effort to get some things done.

I also am an avid screen user. There are a number of places where I need a serial console and TMUX basically says "we will not support serial connections ever".

screen is way better than the alternatives for what I want. I never got minicom to work as smoothly as screen. It's just so clunky.

That seems to reason. Unless you buy all your stuff at Walmart online, you have to go in and see the people working and their working conditions.

Amazon, you only see the checkout page. It makes it much easier to ignore the problems.

Shopping in Whole Foods is shopping at Amazon, where you also have to go in and see the people working and their working conditions.

I guess they're not talking about Quantum Vibe webcomic: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Characters/QuantumVib...

One thing I didn't see mentioned here (or the article) that I discovered recently is the "Heroic" game launcher that works in Linux. It lets you start and run GOG and Epic games on Linux. GOG has some Linux stuff, but Epic is allergic to anything but Windows.

It looks like Heroic sets up your wine environment for each game.

I've only installed one game from that, but it seems to work pretty well. Very slick too.

It's a shame no one makes a control board for TV screens like you can often find for old screens like from digital photo frames.

I really think that while, interfaces are less complex these days, they're much more inscrutable, especially with the advent of flat interfaces. You can't tell what's a control or action item or not anymore.
