I still have flashbacks from working with the pthreads extension, which caused extremely hard to debug, non-reproducible segfaults sometimes; I realise Joe has probably started from scratch and improved a lot on that (and I know he's a generally awesome guy), but without a properly financed maintainer team to support him, I'm not sure I want to take that risk again before parallel has gained some maturity.

This is due to how PHP and Sentry for PHP works. It sends out the data after every request to Sentry backend via HTTP. Depending on your network path to their servers, I have seen this take 10-100ms. This is different on how other APMs work for PHP, for example Tideways that I work on, or DataDog/NewRelic/Blackfire. They have a local agent running that accepts the data over socket/tcpip before sending it to the backend for processing.

The workaround in case of Sentry is to deploy the Sentry Relay in your network and send all data there.

I’m a big fan of taking the bike around. Of course you do get those people who can’t imagine biking if theres weather. And it favors more able bodied people for the most part.

Bike infrastructure is compatible with mobility scooters.

This is how it's done in the Netherlands and it works very well. this is not an issue.

Existing bike lanes in the us need a serious overhaul. One of the standard designs runs along the dooring areas of parked cars, and right turning traffic is allowed to cross over it at intersections. The mobility scooters I’m familiar with seem to top out at a brisk walk speed on the other hand. That sort of speed differential is a recipe for danger as the roads and bike lanes are currently built in north america.
