In a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence, Large Language Models (LLMs) have emerged as the crown jewels of the machine learning realm. These marvels of technology, capable of generating human-like text and understanding the intricacies of language, have found applications in diverse domains, from natural language processing to content generation. As the demand for LLM-based applications skyrockets, the need for skilled engineers who can harness the potential of these models has never been more critical.
Enter Databricks, a name synonymous with groundbreaking advancements in the big data space. In their quest to democratize AI, they have unveiled a pioneering program: Large Language Models. These courses, tailored for both novice enthusiasts and seasoned experts, provide a comprehensive roadmap to master the art of building and utilizing LLMs for modern applications. Let’s embark on this journey of discovery and delve into what makes these courses an indispensable asset for anyone passionate about the world of machine learning and natural language processing.
From the perspective of forty+ years, I think there is two possible corrections to be made in your comment:
The first being [In a world increasingly shaped by artificial stupidity,]
and the second being [and not capable of understanding the intricacies of language]
We have been here before and the same problem is arising today as it has done in the past.
We are far too enamoured by our technology and fail to see that it is our own stupidities that will bring about all the trouble that will come. We think we have made something wonderful and yet the reality is that what we are doing is effectively no better than what a witch doctor does in a much more primitive society.
These tools have the possibility of enhancing our abilities if we understand the limitations inherent in them. But if we attribute more to these tools then the consequences will be on our stupidity. These tools are incredibly fragile and we need to recognise that and take the necessary precautions in using them.
I have said this elsewhere, fire is a useful tool but an abhorrent master. So to with these tools.
All the layoff news lately has brought back vivid memories from my past when I was laid off on an H-1B. When I was feeling lost, it helped to know that 80% of people laid off from tech jobs find a new job within 3 months, and 40% within a month.
I wish back then I had these resources to help move forward and find new opportunities. Remember, a layoff is not a reflection of your personal worth, but rather an opportunity for growth and renewal. Drawing from my personal experience, I drafted this 7-stage guide to cope with the emotional fallout and make the most of this change

The guide has curated links to support articles, interview prep, job search, and H-1B visa help which I found very relevant and useful.
