What is the difference with tools like Camunda (for BPMN) for example ?

Dapr is a code-first workflow engine that doesn't require a DSL language and includes many other integration points like pub/sub, service discovery and more. It also runs and deploys natively on K8s

So for workflows it's like Airflow, Brigade or hatchet or ...? How do workflows integrate with k8s (ressources, ...)? Camunda can also deploy natively on k8s. However you still develop apps for Camunda and it seems like dapr is no different there? Why is it in CNCF if it doesn't provide a way to build a workflow out of k8s-native artifacts (PVs, Deployments, Jobs, ...)?

> why are we commiting offensive cyber operations against a nuclear power?

Maybe because they are doing it too ?

Such Biden logic that ended with us launching missiles into russia. A constant escalation with no real end in sight and always matching "tit-for-tat- instead of trying to solve the root issue.

You don't think trump is actively involved in negotations with russia to stop all this madness?

Don't you think that one of the first signs of good faith in negotations would be to stop attacking eachother?

You misspelled Reagan.

(Though to be fair, every president since Truman has escalated things with Russia/USSR, except maybe Clinton. Reagan just did more than most.)

> You don't think trump is actively involved in negotations[sic] with russia to stop all this madness?

No, I think Trump is doing whatever Putin wants him to do.

No other president has given explicit permission to launch american missles and use american guidance systems to launch missles into russian territory... Besides biden. What are you talking about?

And you forgot... besides Trump. because trumps not a warmonger, people like to act like he's on the side of the russians. People have lost their minds.

> trumps not a warmonger

In the last 3 months, Trump has threatened to invade:

- Greenland - Canada - Mexico - Panama - Cuba

> people like to act like he's on the side of the russians

Trump has said that Ukraine is the one that started the war, and the "deal" he negotiated to end the war excluded Ukraine from the discussion and would give Russia everything it asked for.

> People have lost their minds.

You're right on that point, but its probably not the people you're thinking of.

It does not help that both reciprocal and inverse come from French, and that their common meanings are reversed in English. I'm not sure whether the meaning of both words has remained constant over time in these two languages, as they both roughly mean "the opposite" and if you want to avoid ambiguity, you simply add context. For example, if you say "inverse function" or "multiplicative inverse" it's not ambiguous.

Inverse function: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverse_function / https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bijection_r%C3%A9ciproque

Reciprocal: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiplicative_inverse / https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverse

Wikipedia seems to have chosen "multiplicative inverse" over "reciprocal" for title, even though they are clearly indicated as synonymous.

That’s a really good point. I will try to remember to do that in future.

Your relative position to the sun and the cloud.

I am not convinced. This would mean it could only be "blocking" the sun. If anything, it would be atmospheric light reflections blocked. In any case, it's not "other clouds".

I think diffraction has to play a role. Why wouldn't it? Dense, or raining clouds certainly have different water droplet sizes and shapes than fine, fluffy clouds. They may even reflect the ground or sky at some point, I imagine, like the ocean.

> At the time GDP of the Eurozone was comparable to the US' now the US is almost twice as big

No, You're just comparing change in the EUR/USD exchange rate here. In 2007, the euro was at a high point of 1.48, and in 2024 it's at a low of 1.02. Inflation has not been higher in Europe than in the USA over that period.

If we look at GDP at purchasing power parity from 2007 to 2023 we have this:

- European Union: 31,162 → 61,217, +96% (https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.PCAP.PP.CD?locat...)

- USA: 48,050 → 82,769, +72% (https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.PCAP.PP.CD?locat...)

Which shows a slight catching-up by the European Union over the period.

The US are leaving Europe behind in term of growth (and thus ultimately GDP and GDP per capita) in any case [1] [2].

"Between 2010 and 2023, the cumulative growth rate of GDP reached 34% in the United States, compared with just 21% in the European Union and 18% in the eurozone. This measure of GDP in volume does not depend on changes in exchange rates." [2]

Why do you interpret this comment as anti-OOP ?

I see it has criticising rust choice to not do OOP at the beginning to finally do it piece by price and that it would have probably be better for the language to embrace it from start.

I don’t know how to interpret the comment, but that seems to be how the other responses interpret it.

In his case, I would often call it "adding noise to the signal" and not "pointing out disinformation".

As it's my project, I would like to add that it is 100% experimental at the moment and as the readme tell it : "Nothing really useful practically at the moment as a lot of things are still mocked and the garbage collector is not implemented."

I don't work on it regularly but any idea is welcome.

I would expect more professional operations considering the very high salaries of Mozilla foundation management and I would not blame any particular employee for this problem.
