It was revealed not too long ago that its common for the CIA to use signal. They probably spend all day every day trying to crack it, so if they feel comfortable with its encryption, I'm sure the def department does too.

The government cannot do anything for a few dollars.

I think we might be experiencing an outbreak right here, symptoms include over reaction to anything Trump does, posting politics to HN, and excessive downvoting.

Victim mentality much?

> But it's often a monumental endeavour to cross the gap between 70% and 90% accurcacy; 90%-95% even more.

That sounds exactly what we went through in the late 90's with voice recognition (remember dragon naturally speaking and via voice?).

I live in the American suburbs (New England). In the summer its lawn mowers every day and in autumn its leaf blowers every day. All for these vanity patches of grass that serve no real function. From comments on the internet it seems like it bothers some people but most just think of it as funny.

> From long experience we expect Google and hence Chrome to act against our interests. We have not expected that of Mozilla and Firefox.

HN used to gush over how great Chrome was. Some of us were saying, um guys, you know google is in the business of selling advertising right? Nobody seemed to care. Now mozilla's lawyers have them change some legalese and they are instantly the bad guys.

Another example of why Tesla rage is childish.

Zelensky wouldn't have acted like that if he wasn't in the oval and on national TV. It was a performance in really bad taste, climbing to the moral high ground, and that rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. Zelensky even pissed off Lindsay Graham, huge urkaine supporter in the senate, who looks like he's done with him now.

Lindsay Graham looks more like he pissed himself. So after he saw that bullying and the way the president conducted himself he couldn't be more proud? I've met some ppl, some crazies included, but none that distort reality the way trump and his supporters do. Is there like a crisis in the american education system, what is happening there?

Put aside the Musk hatred. Maybe the company that has 8k satellites in orbit and can bring internet to anywhere in the world, is a better fit than a cell phone company?

Can a rogue nation across the globe launch one small rocket to disrupt critical infrastructure based on cell towers?

OP seems intelligent and articulate to me. I'm not sure a "non-intelligent" person could even post on reddit. OPs problem is marketable skills if he wants to work for somebody else, or small business entrepreneurship if not.
