One of the issues with Nissenbaum and Brunton's Obfuscation book is that there has been an extensive argument made that it actually supports pro-state forces, not opposes them [0]

This is the most infuriating characteristic of modern web-deveopment, the constant churn to change what is working for people. Glad to see that it is not universal.
