I firmly believe that was a poison pill put in the bill to try and eventually push insurance prices so high that Americans would acquiesce to single payer.
The alternatives are the bill’s authors were so stupid they didn’t see the negatives to that action, they thought it would play well to voters and the rest be damned, or the some big medical players got it put in - which would be risky, considering option A.
But yeah, with that in place they have no incentive to pay out less - they simply can’t have it raise higher than their competitors too quickly.
I feel like Republicans would have made a bill just to get rid of that one portion but the voters would hate it so much they can’t because people’s grasp on economics is too simple.
A hamburger is at McDonalds is $1.89 in my area, a McDouble is $3.29. The double cheeseburger is $3.99. What they call the "daily double" which is a silly name for a hamburger with the works is also $3.99.
I don't think using the basic burgers is a bad choice since specialty burgers probably don't compare well across chains.
I agree. I can listen to a podcast in my car, there's no chance someone will cough or sneeze near me, etc.
My first time being into a McDonalds since I was a kid was earlier this summer when I gave my 3 year old the option of going in or staying in the car. I was pretty shocked at how barebones it was now. There weren't even napkins available and none with our food...which, when you have a kid with, is an issue.
Cool. Tell that to my 35 year old friend who died of cancer last year. Or, better yet, the baby of a family friend that was born with brain cancer. You might have had a hard time getting her to hear you with all the screaming in pain she constantly did until she finally mercifully died before her first birthday, though.
Nah, that won’t gain you much (if anything?) over just doing the layer swaps on RAM. You can put the text encoder on the second card but you can also just put it in your RAM without much for negatives.
