Do you take night showers? If your house has hard water or your water dept. adds excessive chlorine, then either of those could be the culprit.
You would have to be insane to move because you've recently been given remote work privileges, especially in the middle of a recession caused by an ongoing pandemic.
This is why I'm staying put in San Jose, at least for now.

No offense, but I would not attribute any sense of freedom or higher degree of control in one's life to receiving alimony. What happens if/when the ex-spouse prematurely dies or has their bank account hacked?
