It says recalled 4000. Does that mean they sold that many? Not to mention sales which haven’t shipped.

So what traits are you comparing? Sales? Quality? excitement?

Yes, it does. They had to recall every single one of them.

Yes, you’re also right there are more orders that aren’t shipped.

> manufactured from November 13, 2023, to April 4, 2024

Where are you getting that the population of cybertrucks is no greater than 4000?

The above is essentially the entire time period that Cybertrucks were manufactured. Where would additional numbers come from? Not pre-Nov 2023. I'm sure some were manufactured later in April, but there also was a production stop for a week or so, which again suggests that not a huge number was produced since April 4.

> The recall involves all 3,878 of the aesthetically-divisive angular trucks that have been sold so far.

> That means the 3,878 trucks being recalled are likely many, if not all, of the trucks now on US roads.

A couple of sources.

All of them simply cite the recall report with the manufacturing date range and extrapolate that is all the vehicles. I’ll wait for a financial figure, thanks.

You mean the financial figures that Tesla have been caught acting less than honestly with? "Financially delivered" vehicles that are no more than a VIN plate in a warehouse still waiting to go through an assembly line?

Or like in Australia, "We outsold Camry!" - and then when the media pulled vehicle registration data, well, no, they hadn't. Not even close.

Ok, I didn’t say that either. But it’s even more misleading to say they only sold 4000. Good faith preorders are sales and nobody has evidence besides a date range

November 13 was the start of production. (There were a very small number built in pilot production earlier, AFAIK those were not for customer delivery.)

So the number in the recall (3,878) is the population.
