If you had used Obsidian for more than 15 minutes you would have realized there are plugins to sync the notes using git, which even works on iOS.

I love the tagging aspect. That's super important to me -- when I know I had a thought a long while ago and just remember vague aspects of it or a certain subject matter, it'd be awesome to just search by tags.

Tags are nice, the problem is having to add them in the first place. Semantic file systems have been working on this problem forever. Would be kinda neat to have a note taking app have tag buttons pop up as you input to easily select them , or something like double touching a word to add it as a tag. anybody know of something similar?

Yeah tags are awesome, it's the default way that i use to search through the notes.
