Individually and collectively, the University of California libraries provide access to the world’s knowledge for the UC campuses and the communities they serve, directly supporting UC’s missions of teaching, research, and public service. The California Digital Library (CDL), situated within the UC Office of the President, provides transformative digital library services that amplify the impact of the libraries, scholarship, and resources of the University of California.
The Publishing, Archives, and Digitization (PAD) program at the CDL is seeking a Technical Team Manager to lead a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing team of developers. (Recommended salary range is $145,000 - $155,000, commensurate with experience.) In this role, you will manage five direct reports who work on a large suite of exciting and complex projects in the areas of scholarly publishing, digital archives, and mass digitization. You will also work closely with project managers, CDL leadership, and external partners, providing strategic technical guidance in setting goals and direction for the program and the larger organization.
This position is an exciting opportunity for somebody with a passion for guiding strong technical teams to play a critical role in creating library tools that are used around the world to advance open scholarship and knowledge sharing. We value a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace and encourage applications from individuals who have worked to cultivate that kind of environment, including those who are members of underrepresented groups.
Applicants who wish to work remotely within California or on a hybrid basis will be considered.
NOTE: Though the job posting lists January 12th as the date of first review, we will be actively recruiting through January 31st.
