This is an interesting alternative compared to, say, using Elasticsearch / OpenSearch.

One caveat appears to be index size, though:

Meta-observation: Whoa, the accessibility wheelchair in the lower right-hand side is unlike anything I've seen offered by a website before. It's like these people really care about user comfort. Refreshing.

This needs a "(2003)" in the title, so that people realize how old this information is. The (last?) version of the software mentioned is archived in https://github.com/swish-e/swish-e


As a rule of thumb, I never assume a Hacker News article was recently published. XD

Lots of old gems being posted after years.


It all still works tho :)
