Comments moved thither. Thanks!

How come that this article became featured twice at HN? I am just curious, should I recognize the author? Is that a well known blog or something?

We had put the first submission (the current one - 28596178) in the second-chance pool (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=26998308). It was sitting there waiting to get lobbed randomly onto the front page when the later submission (28603398) coincidentally became a big thread. After that, the original submission still got lobbed onto the front page.

We should fix the code to handle sort of case, but it's pretty rare.

I think it was posted twice and the old one merged into this one. I posted on this article yesterday or the day before, yet my top level comment says “two hours ago” at the time of writing this.

Matt Bruening is a relatively popular left-wing analyst and founder of a think tank. He's popular enough to have a wikipedia article, at least: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Bruenig
