It will suck if we still won't see macbook pro with more than 16GB of ram because of that



They've already had a Kaby Lake MBP; there's a good chance they'll wait til CannonLake for the next one, which will.


That or apple will just not update it for 20 months to build demand then use their own chips.


In 20 months it better be 12 cores and 64gb.

I already have a thinkpad with 32gb that I use for ML and minikube.


I have a suspicion that Apple can beat Intel on most of the metrics typical end users care about (single threaded speed, battery life), and pro users will just be forced to push the work to another rig.

Who knows though, maybe they'll reintroduce the xserve? ;)
